My mother used to always tell me, “You have champagne taste on a beer budget.” If someone placed two items in front of me, I would always pick the more expensive item. I guess I just have an eye for nice things. Though, as I have lived life, I have come to the realization that the most expensive option is not always the best decision.
This inspired me to write a post where I can help people decorate their homes in a “flashy” way, but not have to spend the type of money they normally would to get that look. If I can get a $1000 couch that looks like $10,000 why wouldn’t I? Anyone would. Saving money makes us feel like warriors! We battled-and came out on top! And at the end of the day, that’s all we really want; satisfaction rather than guilt!
Take a look at what I have found to show you! My beer budget living room for those with champagne taste!
The Restoration Harware room priced out to be $20,756, and my design priced out to be $3,678! Amazing, right?!?! That is a total savings of $17,078! You could buy a brand new car for the cost of that living room! Crazy! I found the furniture and decor items at Target, Wayfair, and Ashley Homestore.
